CUSTOM HARDWARE

Custom Drapery Hardware

In the business of interior design, the finishing touches are often more important than the big pieces. Furniture, rugs, and wallpaper can all completely transform the look of a room, but it is the finishing touches that really make or break an interior design. The right small elements pull a room together, and the wrong ones can stick out like a sore thumb. At Interior Views, we understand the importance of the small things, and our experts would love to make sure that the finishing touches in your home work to bring everything together harmoniously.

Custom drapery hardware is one of those important finishing touches. Curtain rods, rings, brackets, wands, tiebacks, and finials come in hundreds of varieties and styles. Selecting the right design to match your aesthetic is important, and then you want to make sure you choose the correct material or finish to match or contrast with the other finishes of the room. Let the trained experts at Interior Views help you with all those decisions. We carry top-quality custom hardware from Design Elements, Fabricut, Trend, JF Fabrics, JAB, Paris Texas, The Finial Company, Kirsch, and many more.

Drapery Hardware Pieces

Several different elements make up a complete drapery hardware set. When selecting how you want to hang your curtains and what aesthetic you are seeking, you will need to consider several options.

Curtain Rods

The classic, and most common, way to hang drapery is on a traditional curtain rod. Rod pocket curtains slide over the rod while other varieties hang from rings. When selecting a rod for your home, you want to consider the size. You want to make sure it is small enough to fit in your rod pocket or inside the rings, but you also want to make it large enough to hold the weight and give the look you desire. The larger the diameter of the rod, the more noticeable it will be. Rods can come in straight and curved and can be made of metal, wood, or resin.

Traverse Tracks

Traverse track systems are often used for taller windows and sliding glass doors. Instead of sliding a curtain along a rounded rod, this system is a series of small, hooked wheels along a track. Traverse tracks are also a great choice if you are using curtains for closets or creating separate spaces in your home.

Brackets

These drapery hardware pieces are used to hold curtain rods or traverse tracks in place. You usually want to select a bracket that matches your curtain rod or traverse track. When selecting brackets, you want to make sure you know how and where you would like to hang your drapery. There are different options for mounting inside the window frame, on the wall above the window, or on the ceiling. There are also brackets designed to hold two curtain rods if you have a sheer and opaque curtain or want a layered look. You can even select decorative elements like rosettes if you want your hardware to stand out.

Finials/End Caps

These decorative elements are placed at the end of the curtain rods. End caps are usually simple flat stoppers that match the rod and give a clean edge. Finials, on the other hand, range from simple spheres to glass knobs to decorative designs. Constructed of metal, wood, or resin, these elements can add a wow factor to your window treatments.

Rings

Rings are what allow your curtain to move along the rod. The most important part of selecting your drapery ring is ensuring it is the correct sizer for the rod. It is also essential to make sure that the ring has enough space for your curtain; this is especially important with grommet-style curtains. We carry rings that match each of our rod material options.

Wands

These slender wooden, resin, or metal sticks are the most common way to open and close curtains. You can choose a smooth, thin wand or one with decorative shapes or elements. We stock wands that match the color and design of all of our drapery rods.

Tiebacks

When your drapery is open, tiebacks are used to keep the curtains out of the way and stop them from drifting closed. Some tiebacks are made of matching fabric and either tied around the curtain or are solid loops attached to the wall. We also carry metal and wood tiebacks, which resemble large hooks. These tiebacks are affixed to the wall, and the curtain is slid into them to hold it back. Like finials, tiebacks range from smooth curves to fancy decorative sculptured pieces.
